Explorer Scouts have the opportunity of becoming Young Leaders in whichever Section (Beavers, Cubs, or Scouts) and whichever of the 7 District Groups they choose.
Being a Young Leader encourages early development of Leadership skills, and training is provided.
Most Explorers enjoy being Young Leaders, whilst at the same time following the programme of activities and the Awards schemes. However, some Explorers prefer to concentrate on the active programme and Awards, and don’t become Young Leaders, and some Explorers like to be Young Leaders and don’t follow the programme.
What’s great about Explorers is that each Explorer can choose.
